Oh, what to do...

So...yes, P.J. left. It's been a few days now..jeez maybe a week?!
It all feels so surreal now. Those hours following taking him to the airport were so...fraught. Carrie was staying, maybe. Kathleen was out of there. I was ready to go but it didn't feel right and I couldn't figure out why.

The three of us went to dinner with Felipe, Wade and Mary. We vented and raged and cried and commiserated. In the end we resolved to sleep on it.

And in the morning we packed our bags into the truck and drove to Philadelphia, Mississippi. We resolved to stay more truthful about what we were seeing at camp, and speak up when we saw something that wasn't right. Part of that was to honor P.J., another part was to better honor ourselves.

And we'll take it from there.

This picture was taken right before we got to camp. We stopped about 15 miles out of town and had PBJ sandwhiches and just steady ourselves for the return.

Hi Nik - I can't begin to imagine what all of you have been through (both wonderful and not so...) since February. Here's a quote that has really helped me over the last few months. It is by Ralph Waldo Emerson. "His heart was as great as the world, but there was no room in it to hold the memory of a wrong."
